What does reality mean to you?

Posted 04-11-2009 at 08:57 PM by Chris Endres

I have heard a lot of people over the course
of my life tell me I think to much. I had to
figure out whether I thought it was good or
bad and go with it. I chose good thing.

Just one question. What is "real" for you? I
know for me what is real is what I decide is
real. I know that sounds like hogwash. At
least in terms of what I can do, reality is my
game to play.

I am going to purchase a 12,000,000 luxury
submarine some day within the next 3-5
years. That is reality. Does that mean
create reality? Do I actually create it?
Well,.. yes.

And so do you. Do you tell yourself with
your small voice in your head what you can't
do every day? YES, YOU DO. And so did I.

We do not credit the small nagging voice
that tells us stuff is worse than it is, that no
one loves us, that what we want we can
never have, and worst, we don't deserve
love.

Just as the sun shines above the clouds
every single day, your level of happiness is
directly determined by how tolerant you are
of the voice of fear in your head.

If you think it's just no big deal, it's not
hurting anything sitting there lashing out as
you drive, cursing other drivers, and that it
means nothing when you allow yourself to
agonize over junk thoughts surrounding your
relationships, your dead wrong. It matters.

You tolerate a continuous torrent of fear
thinking that loads you down and
disconnects you from your joy, and it's an
insidious process that seems harmless.

If it is true that thought creates, what
habits over time have your little nagging fear
thoughts convinced you are just normal
thinking? How have these thoughts molded
how you live? How big a percentage of your
thoughts are dominated by fearful
reactionism and habit generated negativity?

For me, the answer was way too much. So I
started cutting ties with the little nagging
fears. I consiously started to root out and
challenge my fears to prove their worth, and
they could not.

Now, when I start to react negatively, I
have trained myself to catch it. I do not
allow the seed to grow in my habit
generating mind. If I let a fear in, it will
fester and grow and control me. Because
that is what fear does.

So, what is reality after you allow your self
to release fear and use the energy once
used for hiding to explore and learn? It's a
lot more fun as far as I have experienced...
