How To Redirect A Domain Name - Easy

Posted 06-26-2010 at 08:14 AM by Chris Kent

When making money on the internet, often you need to know how to redirect a domain name to another website or page - usually this is because you want to cloak an affiliate link.

For example, Ezinearticles don't allow you to have affiliate links in your articles. But they do let you link to a domain name and to have this domain name itself redirect to elsewhere.

Using domain redirects can also help increase conversions. People prefer to click on www.loseweightnow.com rather than hop.weightloss.clickbank.net?/TID=trackingid28!

How To Redirect A Domain Name

There are many ways to do this.

1) go to your domain name dashboard on godaddy/namecheap etc. and set it there.

2) use a meta-refresh.

3) use a php redirect.

4) use a frame redirect.

I recommend you go with number (1), it does not require any creation of files and editing code.

Also, when doing this, there may be a delay between changes you make and them becoming active for everyone on the internet.
