While talking me and my friends learned that the single biggest factor in our success if we wanted to run a home based business would revolve around our ability to drive targeted traffic to our website and our businesses. So the first thing we needed to do was learn various ways to drive traffic.
We discovered there were so many different ways this can be done it definitely seemed a little bit intimidating. Some methods were free and would only require an investment of time, and other methods would cost a little bit of money to get started. We also discovered that certain methods drove more targeted traffic to our websites then others.
The significance of this was very important, because if we were going to spend money on traffic we would definitely need to make sure we were getting the most for our money. And if we were going to invest our valuable time in using free methods we needed to be sure we would get some kind of a result. Seeing as how the success of our small business online depended on it, we charted out different ways to drive traffic and we listed the pros and cons of each. We were able to learn that certain methods wouldn't be viable, while others will work extremely well.
You should do the same thing in order to give you a measure of what type of traffic you should be driving to your Internet based business.
This is very simple to do, simply write down at least 10 different traffic generation methods whether they be free or paid, then determine which ones will bring you in the most targeted customers for the money you would have to spend. It may also be a good idea for you to research every one of these different avenues so you can get an idea of what type of traffic you will be getting.
