Welcome, Welcome...

I'm astonished by the amount of "herd mentality" on this forum, and in the field more generally.

It seems to me that there are two types of people in this field. The ones who will be successful and the ones who won't.

Surprising, right?

Sadly, I feel like there are a lot of "those who won't" floating around. People who are stuck in the employee mindset and have not made the transition.. nor the decision.. to be successful on their own merit!

Why does this happen?

I think it's simple to answer this question. The barrier to entry is low. When the barrier to entry is low, you get more people who do not fit the required criteria as well.

I'm a believer in the potential inside of all human beings, but frankly it doesn't matter what I think. What matters is what they (YOU) think.

The decision to be successful is a powerful one. Those who give up have failed. Those who keep trying may not yet be successful, but they are not failures.

More to the point...

I see a lot of employees trying to run businesses. Stop looking for 1-2-3 solutions. Stop searching for someone else to do all the work for you. If you have the mindset your odds of success are not very good. You need to be the rockstar that you're imagining you'll be one day RIGHT NOW.

Take chances on yourself and your business. Learn from your mistakes, and for heaven's stake... stop trying to do what everyone else is doing!

Where's the competitive advantage in that??

Cheers,

Pitty you weren't around here a few years ago when this forum actually had a section of the board named "marketing to the herd" !

Shame I don't have it saved to my computer.
