Many marketers fumble around trying to find what the next popular niche or product will. One easy way to find some of these products is to keep track of what movies are being released.

My favorite resource is called Coming Soon. This website has a release schedule for upcoming movies. It is fascinating as the major movie theatres jockey for prime release dates years in advance.

All you have to do is review the release schedule and see movie release dates. This will also tell you in advance what related products are popular.

Example. If Superman is being released in the summer you know Superman costumes will be big that Halloween, and Superman toys will be big during Christmas.

This was you can plan ahead and be read to strike when popularity is peaking.

You do not want to be releasing a website the week after a big movie premier, and by the time you get traction in the rankings the buzz is over or smarter marketers have beaten you to the punch.

So what about now? What is going to be popular in a few months?

Dinosaurs!

Always popular, but Jurassic World opens on June 12th. This will be the fourth movie in the massively popular Jurassic Park franchise. I just created an initial Dinosaur Coins website for several reasons, one of which is to be ready when the movie opens this summer.

Note how I am not targeting the movie itself, but a product that will be made more popular by the movie.

This way when the buzz about Jurassic World dies down the website will not be dead. Instead, it will be ready when the next dinosaur event happens. You never know when that will be!

Bottom line: Use the Coming Soon website to know what will be popular in a few months - even a couple years from now.

Then start planning your website, which should be a more evergreen product and not one only tied into a movie (unless the movie is franchise like James Bond where you know the movies will keep coming - but those are extremely rare).
