Backlink Index Express - Answers To Common Questions

Part I, Background And Files
I get quite a lot of feedback about BIE – mostly good, but some of you have asked that I go into more detail on how BIE works and the reasons we designed the software the way we did. So, in this thread, I’ll be updating you with as much detail as I can regarding BIE and how to use it effectively.
Why BIE Was Created
I credit Terry Kyle with the inspiration to create BIE. His writings about backlinking created an entirely new field of Internet Marketing. One afternoon, I received one of Terry’s newsletters about improving the indexing rate of backlinks by using Web 2.0 blogs and RSS feeds. Within a week, BIE V1 was born. I wrote it myself, and frankly while it did manage to work, it was a mess.
By version 2, BIE was written by a professional, and sales were humming along very well. I was getting fantastic testimonials from some pretty heavyweight marketers. Apparently, I had a ‘hit’ on my hands. Then one morning, I woke up and fired up my online Help Desk and noticed several users were reporting that the ‘method’ BIE was using was no longer working. The next several versions of BIE were attempts at working around the Web 2.0 issues.
Then Kok Choon send me an email telling me he was using the WordPress posting function I had added earlier, and was actually getting BETTER indexing results using self-hosted WordPress blogs. That started a new direction that has eventually brought us to BIE v7.
How BIE Works Now
BIE gets your money site backlinks indexed by backlinking them to a network of blogs. You create a network of 5 blogs – these blogs have only one mission in life, and that is to post content with links to your REAL backlinks ( the backlinks you pay for – like forum profiles, blog comments, etc.). By ‘Backlinking Your Backlinks’ – you get them indexed faster.
The Big, Complicated Diagram
Here it is – I’m going to refer to this diagram many times in this thread:

The Files and What They Do:
contentfeeds.txt : This is the list of Ezine Article Feeds BIE needs for the snippets of content (note: Many of you have tried to use other feeds in this file – most DO NOT work. Stick with EZA feeds, they come in a variety of niches are are constantly updated – plus, they WORK with BIE!)
bloginfo.csv: this is the file with YOUR WordPress Blog information. You format the file like this:
http://www.yourdomain.com,admin,password,Uncategorized
http://www.yourdomain.com,admin,password,Uncategorized
http://www.yourdomain.com,admin,password,Uncategorized
This is a comma-separated list – domain name (with http:// and no trailing slash), blog username, blog password, blog default category.
You have ONE blog entry per line. TIP: don’t put quotes in this file and make sure the user you are specifying is and Admin user on your blog.
One other tip, this does NOT work on WordPress.com blogs! Self-hosted WordPress blogs only!
keywords.txt – this is the file that contains the keywords BIE will use to create the Internal Feed, the RSS feed that will be pinged to the Ping aggregators each time BIE makes a post. I like to use popular keywords in this file, so it’s best to leave the content that is already in there for you.
anchortext.txt – this is the anchor text list BIE will use for the links it posts – again, it’s ok to leave as is, or you can customize.
blogfeeds.txt – this is the file that contains the RSS feeds to your WordPress Indexer Blogs and the url to the BIE Internal Feed (located in /feed/feed.xml). These are the feeds that will be pinged by BIE each time it runs.
mylinks.txt – this is the most important file, it contains the urls of your backlinks.
