This blog is my Warrior Forum blog, where I post some tips I think are useful to internet marketers.

Internet Marketers with Integrity and Fearlessness, Y'all out there?
Posted 04-26-2009 at 01:54 PM by Daniel McGonagle
This is a 2-part rant about marketers who promote items they haven't tested and also a rant aimed towards the wanna-be internet marketers who want to succeed but are afraid of their own shadow.
EVERY time there's a product launch, a whole slew of product launch jockeys are on the bandwagon trying to get some spill over traffic from the emails sent to other marketer's email "blasts".
My biggest pet peeve is the product launches for products that take 3-4 months to prove their worthiness, like link building services.
The reason that this irks me so much is because there's no real value behind t e promotions or the services being promoted until they've proven themselves.
THAT'S why email marketing is the best form of communication for making affiliate sales to knowledgeable customers and/or clients.
The trust has been gained already if your newsletter is any good.
But the launch jockeys making sales off hyped-up product launches aren't interested in long-term relationships or practicing a business model designed for long-term success.
"Once-bitten, twice-shy" means your first time visitor who believed your positive review for an untested service or product and bought from you is never coming back to your site.
Imagine if a coffee shop used the same coffee grounds to make it's coffee to save money while continuing to make sales...
You'd need to find the new suckers that are born every minute to keep coming in in order to maintain your sales.
Which brings me to my next pet peeve:
People not willing to take chances or to spend money to finance their businesses.
"Which link building services works best, X or XYZ?" they ask...
If you were meant to own and run your own business you wouldn't be relying on others' opinions to guide you in the right direction.
You need to blaze your own trails and create your own personal experiences. Maybe then you'd have something valuable to share with others, like a case study showing how you use a particular service or product to maximum efficiency or to show that it didn't work very well at all.
"Should I buy this?"....
Is a perfect example of the fearful wanna-be entrepreneur asking if it's "OK" to proceed with taking a certain action regarding their business.
...and whoever is asking that question is probably hoping, deep down, that the answers reinforce what they want to hear.
You have to be fearless
You have to make your own way
A marketer I admire is Steve Wagenheim, a prolific writer and marketer.
HIS methods are, or were, different from what a lot of people said would work. Some critiqued his sites, methods, and even products but at the end of the day he's a 6-figure internet marketer.
Here's an old Warrior forum post that shows how someone else blazed their own trail, ignored a lot of what he was told would NOT work, and became hugely successful as well
What's the common theme there?
They did their own thing, made good products, and did it their way.
Screw the fear of technology, taking risks, and of wasting time on things that might not work.
Every iota of experience gained will help you and your business grow.
Personal development and business development go hand in hand and you will NEVER develop quickly on a personal level by asking others to guide your way.
Conventional wisdom is not always what you should rely upon for sage advice.
Be your own guru, review the products yourself by purchasing them and using them.
That's the long-term approach and it's also the short-term path to success with internet marketing because you will quickly find out what really works and what really doesn't for yourself.
Then you just run with whatever is working for you and let people know about it when the time is right via free report, blog post, or paid products.
Thanks for reading this, hope it helps you,

Daniel,
I totally agree with everything you said here. Don't have much to add, except I really do not approve with marketers selling stuff they haven't tested themselves.
We all have great ideas and knowledge about how something should work. But until you test it out and it proves to work and proves to be beneficial, you shouldn't try to sell it!
Thanks and take care,
