I've been revamping my strategy and converting from minor niche sites to larger, more authoritative sites. A few of which, are in some "hard" niches. Hard being that the subject matter at hand isn't something easy to delve into unless you have first hand experience with the subject itself. Thus, ghost writers are hard to hire. I'll often have to edit their works and mistakes, mainly due to the subject matter being a bit outside their ability to easily find information elsewhere online.
On a side note, I have, for many years now, been trying to work with local businesses and working to create a lead generation strategy. Instead of just helping them with marketing and seo, charging them an upfront fee and on going fees for any maintenance, I managed on working out a deal with a friend generating leads for his NautiClean line of products that sell to offshore/Gulfcoast oil companies. I've been looking for a deal like this for quite sometime, but I found it hard to trust someone, however, since this is an old friend I figured it was worth the effort. Hopefully, this will be a great experience from the usual redundant lead generation I currently chase as well as being quite profitable!
