Five Obstacles to Earning Money Online

Posted 12-29-2011 at 06:23 PM by David Sneen

Goal; To Earn Money Online

More and More people go online with one goal in mind---to earn money. Some people wish to earn a little more money to supplement their salaries. Some are looking to earn a whole lot more money. Some are looking to make the internet their sole salary source. Regardless of which category you fit into, there are obstacles you should be aware of. Avoid these pitfalls, and you stand a good chance of achieving your online income creation goals and earning more money than you earn working your day job!...Perhaps your goal is to earn enough money to quit that day job.

Here are five obstacles to avoid;

Not Getting Started

This one seems pathetically obvious. Yet, how many times have you had a great idea and watched it die because you never got started?

Certainly any idea you wish to turn into cash needs to be researched. But, at some point it must get started. Perfection is unattainable. There will be risks! After doing your research, you need to begin.

This does not mean begin wrecklessly. This is the type of error we are trying to avoid. But, if you do your research and believe you have a good idea, if you have minimized all foreseeable risks, at some point you must act! Otherwise, no income!

No Day-to-Day Strategy

This is something I have had to fight in my three years of blogging. As I was creating my blog, I felt I was getting better set to help others earn money; yet I remained invisible online! Once you begin your blog, you must continually work on it---seven days without posting and the search engines downrate you. If you fail to communicate with those who comment on your blog, you will lose potential customers. No customers=no income. Making a blog is not sufficient. One has to bring visitors to that blog. Thus, a thorough social media strategy is necessary.

The amount of work you can do on any one day is overwhelming. There are dozens of social media sites, forums, etc. You can get lost in any one of them and neglect potential customers in the others.

To avoid this, you need a plan each day. I recommend you keep this plan offline. Make a to do list for the things you need to do online. Determine how much work you have. Determine how much time you have and where the best use of time will be. Then get started!

Insufficient Knowledge

I am just getting my blog rated on page one in some rather easy to obtain categories. If I were to create an SEO blog post---I would be completely unqualified!!! In the same manner, hudreds of starving wannabes are spamming the internet with ideas about how to create an income source that will produce more than the next guys. Most of them are desperate, because they don't know how to earn money online!

Unable to Find a Mentor/Resources

There is such a vast array of options; more and more each day, on the internet. People who wish to earn money online normally need help in locating a suitable online income creation resource and running with it.

Available resources include dozens, no hundreds, of tutorials. People need only to figure out the right keywords to request, and there the answer is. Having a knowledgeable mentor is truly a huge advantage. Someone who has earned a large online income is more than qualified to help you earn money online!

Insufficient Investment Time/Capital

Pursuing an online income is likely to require an investment. Investments of time and money are normally necessary before any money can be earned. Underfunded or neglected ideas are almost always doomed.

There is more and more money to be earned everyday. But, there are more and more people going broke trying to earn that money. It is best to count the cost---do you have enough time and money to succeed in your chosen online venture?
