60 Second Tip - How to Find Content for Your Blog or Website (7 Tips)
Posted 04-21-2009 at 08:32 AM by dbarnum
The net is filled with people who know more about any given topic than you do. While you can't plagiarize what they have written, you sure can learn a lot from what they are saying.
Some content tips and pointers:
1) If you don't understand something there will also be someone willing to help you.
2) You need to realize though that you cannot be an expert on everything. There are thousands of people that know more than you do about a zillion things. So When it's time to write some new content on something your are not very familiar with, start reading blogs, forums and articles on your topic.
3) When you're looking for ideas on content for a new site, some of the first places to go to are article or review sites to get a feel for what the hot topics are for the niche market.
4) Take notes and keep folders (on your computer and offline in print) so you can refresh yourself on the topics.
5) Sit down and start writing and take reference notes on any sources that you can use later. Then in your own words, create original articles or blog posts based on this information and upload it to your website.
6) Another method is to outsource your content by getting it ceated for you.
One of the best places to get exactly what you want written is in forums. Just ask other members to give you bids on content about your topic (or check the For Hire, Classifieds or other similar sections).
7) You can also go to places like scriptlance.com, rentacoder.com or elance.com and get 100's of writers, programmers and editors bidding on your project.
Hint:
Just be aware that with any outsourcing you only get what you pay for. Many low bids could just be stolen work, so make sure you use www.copyscape.com on anything you buy before you pay to check to see if it is original or not.
If you're prepared to do the research, getting original content for your niche market is not hard so there's simply no excuse not to create a number of sites to begin generating multiple streams of income to secure your future.
