Social Bookmarking For Authority Sites

Social Bookmarking is a system that allows users / readers to store and organize bookmarks of page they enjoy on the internet. A great way to improve stickiness is to add bookmarking widgets to your site.
There are several available depending on the platform you are using.

Since we are using Joomla, a trip to Joomla.org extensions collection was the goal today.

I've used this particular plug in before and I noticed that they had updated it.

This handy little plugin sports several built in Bookmarking sites to choose from.
Notice that this is a plugin and not a module so its applied site wide.
They've designed this so you can exclude certain categories, sections and content. This is unusal for a Joomla plugin. That is more the behavior of a module.

At any rate, have a look at the product information page and add it to your collection of "super must have" additions for Joomla.

While you are over there, you'll also notice the vote function for each article. I really like using this. People can't help themselves. They like to vote. This feature is nice because a user doesn't have to login to cast their vote.

All these little things improve the stickiness of your site. This means they stay longer and will notice other things to click - like your ads.
