Well it has been a while! And that is really no excuse, except that I have been productive (to a degree). No, not making a lot of money but definitely learning the art, skill and finer points of standing up websites, especially blogs for brick and mortar storefronts.
I am also finding that the basics are still very important but easy to forget once your skill level improves.
For instance, do you rename admin on your Wordpress site after standing up the site? From a security point of view, it really is a good recommendation. Also, do you avoid using the same password for all of your sites? Ok, maybe spread them around, but you know what I mean. Another thought, do you go through and at least remove the default posts from either the basic Wordpress setups or that new theme you bought to jazz up your new site or the site you are building for the proud owner? There are many lists of do's and don'ts you may want to check out sometime soon on the internet. Whatever you do, do something!
Anyway if you celebrate the season, Merry Christmas and if not, Merry Christmas anyway!
