Two Tips to Help You Make More EBook Sales
Posted 01-30-2009 at 12:06 PM by Ethan Evans
How often do you put yourself in the shoes of your potential customer? If you're not in the habit of doing this with any regularity, you're potentially losing sales. Here's what I mean. Take a moment to visit your own website, and pretend that you're someone who is mildly interested in the eBook being sold. After all, your prospect wouldn't be on your website if they weren't at least somewhat interested in the topic of your eBook.
For the purposes of this article, let's assume that your sales presentation is adequate, and that the prospect is very seriously considering buying your eBook. What follows are two very important tips that can help you make more sales.
The first tip is to offer a money back guarantee. Preferably, this money back guarantee should be for as long as possible. For example, most of my eBooks have a 60 day money back guarantee that's backed up by the third party online retailer through which my eBooks are sold. Put yourself in the position of the potential customer for a moment. Wouldn't you feel a bit more confident in making the purchase if you knew that you could easily get your money back? Of course. This increases the likelihood of you making more sales.
The second tip is to provide a link to a customer support desk, or to an e-mail address where customers can go to get help if they need it. You should provide this information on the same website where you market your eBook. Few people will ever need to contact you, but they can if they want to. Think about this from the perspective of the customer. From a psychological standpoint, it's a great feeling to know that you can contact someone if you need help accessing the eBook you just purchased, or if you have some other question. Otherwise, you feel as though you're doing business with an anonymous website and it's hard to be sure if there is an actual person minding the store.
By using both of these tips, you are boosting the odds that you'll make more eBook sales. And how hard was it to implement these two tips? Not very hard at all.
