The Apple iPad 3 is finally in our hands. In this review we'd answer the question - was it really worth the wait? Let's have a close look at some of its features.

The Retina Screen

It is the biggest improvement in the Apple iPad 3 over the iPad 2, and you'll notice it as soon as you power up this device. Apple has packed four times as many pixels as iPad 2 in the same screen area resulting in an amazing improvement in the screen quality. Due to this, the screen looks super clean and pin sharp. What's the benefit? Well, it makes the text comfortable and easy to read and looks good too!

Though most apps aren't yet designed to benefit from this retina display, and may look slightly fuzzy. This has mainly to do with the graphics within the apps and when they are upgraded there won't be any problem.

Form Factor

The Apple iPad 3 is little bit heavier and fatter than it predecessor, but you won't notice big difference in hands. It's still possible to fit iPad 2 cases on iPad3 with ease.

Processor

Although Apple says that iPhone 3 has an A5X processor, but there is no significant difference in the computing power. It has a 1 GB RAM, which is half of what you get on the lowest-spec MacBook Air.

Camera

The new camera has been upgraded to 5 megapixel, and HD video. With HD video, along with built in video stabilization in the iPad 3 processor, its very easy to use the iPad 3 for creating stunning videos.

The front camera (for facetime) hasn't changed much , and still gives unflattering facetime images.

Dictation

One of the most exciting features of iPad 3 is its voice dictation feature. There is a tiny microphone symbol on every keyboard. You have to click it and then dictate instead of typing. The best part it that it really works well, but is not perfect.

Storage

The storage is still the same: it's still available in 16GB, 32GB and 64 GB flavors. The point to realize about Apple's strategy is that it is now increasingly about cloud, giving you access to devices where you can store tons of content at one single location instead of putting it on multiple devices. This is convenient for all those who have lots of data (songs, movies, documents, etc) to store.

Battery Life: Apple iPad 3

Whilst the Apple iPad 3 has a slightly better battery than its predecessor but you won't feel the benefit of that exactly. It seems that those extra pixels are using up more power overall, somewhere in the mix between 4 times more pixels in the same screen space, and 60% more power, you get equality. The battery life of iPad2 was 10 hours and the battery of Apple iPad 3 is 40 percent larger than its predecessor, but it's retina screen ploughs through a lot more power. The charging time for iPad 3 is bit longer than iPad 2 and you would have to put it on charge overnight.

Wireless Connectivity

The new Apple iPad 3 is equipped with new LTE (Long Term Evolution) wireless networking technology that enables lightning fast connections
