Today I'm going to talk about starting a Local Directory and how to get your customers' on Google.



What do these links have in common?

• Carpet Cleaning in Orange County
• Carpet Cleaning in Irvine
• Carpet Cleaning in Costa Mesa
• Upholstery Cleaning in Orange County

Give up?

They are all links pointing to a local portal that advertises carpet cleaning.

Do you notice something unique about them?

They use the city and or county name with the term "Carpet Cleaning."

So What?

The term carpet cleaning is a very competitive term and it is on the Internet millions of times. Adding the Key Word phrase, whatever city, with the term makes it more likely that it will be listed where it can be found on Google.

Furthermore this makes the phrase geo specific because people in those cities or counties will be searching for a carpet cleaner in their own area.

Also notice the word "in." This might help if the person looking for a carpet cleaner includes this small extra word in their search.
