Hi All, NOTE: This series starts out with how I made $1,000 a day on several different occasions. As the series continues I tell of other ways I have made money, but, not $1,000 a day so I changed the titles of those posts. End of NOTE.

How would you like to make $1,000 today? If you are just getting into Internet Marketing and need to "show" yourself or your family that you can "make it." Or if you have a WSO you want to buy but can't justify the expense. Or if you need seed money to get started in your online business you can make it today.

You can make from $0.00 to $1,000 depending on how much shoe leather, blood, sweat and tears you put in. I never said this is easy.

I'm writing this entry at 4am in the morning (the time stamp on posts and blogs seem to be off) so if you are reading this around 6 AM PST you have time to do this TODAY. If not, do it tomorrow.

It will not be all that easy (or maybe it will be) and I have to tell you it is possible that you won't make anything. (disclaimer) but I do promise you I've done this enough times to prove to myself that it is possible.

Skills needed: You have to be able to build a simple website. It can be a regular HTML site built with a free editor like Sothink (Google Sothink). Sothink is a WYSIWYG HTML Editor.(What You See Is What You Get)

You could also use a WordPress Blog to do this.

You have probably figured out by now that I'm talking about starting a "Local Portal" or a "Local Directory," to advertise local businesses.

If you are reading this post you have the skills and everything else you need to do this or at least apply yourself to learn to do it. A day spent with Sothink is all you need to build simple websites.

Of course you need hosting. I just bought 3 months hosting for one penny. Maybe you can too. If not you can get hosting for from $1 to no more than $10 to get you started.

Here is the plan in a nutshell.

Get out to your local business area.

Walk in to every business on the street.

Approach the first person you see who is working there and ask "Are you the owner?"

If they are start your pitch. If they aren't ask for the owner.

Tell them you want to build them a website and add them to your local directory.

Charge them $??? a month (that is up to you) The more you charge the less customers you will get and the harder the sale. The less you charge the more customers you will get and the easier the sale, however, the more work you have to do building websites. You have to be comfortable doing this so find your comfort zone.

When I did this I was comfortable charging between $100 and $200 for a year's service. Cheap I know but all I was going after was some quick cash to do more Internet Marketing with.

Now go home, buy your URLs if you haven't already and buy your hosting if you don't have it yet. (hey you have $??? in your pocket.)

Don't think that just because you started a local portal you have to commit to doing this for the rest of your life. You can satisfy the orders for your first ten or twenty customers and never do another website. You are obligated to provide the service you promised to your clients. You are not obligated to keep on getting new clients unless you want to.

Hey, there is another problem here, you have CASH not a Credit Card to buy your URLs and Hosting with. What do you do now? There are many ways to get around this but I like Greendotonline.com Go there and find a merchant in your area. They sell you a "credit card" that you can use for all of your online business. (Offline too for that matter)

The above method is EASY to do But it is HARD work. How bad do you need that $1k? The answer to that question will probably determine how long and how hard you will be willing to work today.

Reality check and another disclaimer: You might not make anything or you might make less than $1,000. I'm just telling you what I have done on more than one occasion when I needed some quick cash.

Til next time,
George Wright

This sounds a good idea. I'll try it in my neighborhood.

Thx for taking time to write this post.
