I need to clarify what I think is a terrible transgression against Napoleon Hill.

Everywhere, the word "mastermind" is use to describe a "Master Mind". Let me take a moment to make a point about "Master Mind" and "mastermind" to clear up the proper use of the terms. If you look up the words "master" and "mind" separately, you will understand why Napoleon Hill never used the word "mastermind" in any of his writings.

Master - abstract control; an abstract idea or force that is thought of as having control or influence

Mind - thinking capacity; the capacity to think, understand and reason

Napoleon Hill saw the Master Mind as an abstract force, psychic if you want to use his term, to guide thinking, understanding and reasoning.

The word mastermind is used to describe a planner, a game of logic or a television show.

Too many people have lost the understanding of the power of the Master Mind. Anyone who is a true student of Hill's writings understands it not just a meeting but the power of the meeting that makes the difference. Hill never really even laid out how to conduct a Master Mind group meeting. He focused on the effects and benefits of having a Master Mind.
