This Free Traffic Through Article Marketing post is the third in a series I am posting here in my Warrior Forum blog to offer highlights of some of the top ways to get free website traffic.
Article Marketing is one of the most popular ways of getting traffic to your website and building backlinks. Backlinks are a big plus, but if you prepare the article properly, you could also stand to get a lot of traffic from it.
Every article should be centered around a specific keyword and the keyword should be determined by the audience you are targeting in the article. Think about the keywords your targeted audience might use to find the info they are interested in.
The closer you are able to target your prospective customer base with well written articles that incorporate primary keywords, the more traffic and exposure you will be able to generate.
Keep your articles tightly focused on the topic and avoid writing lengthy articles. Experienced marketers recommend a length of about 400 words, although some directories require more words.
Most directories allow an author resource box. The purpose of the article, in addition to providing the reader with relevant information, is to lead them to want to click on the link in your resource box for more information on the topic. Where possible and appropriate, you should include a strong call to action in the article, directing the reader to click on the link in your resource box.
Article Marketing is another method that may take time to develop, but pays off very well over time. Make a commitment to write and submit new keyword-focused articles as frequently as you are able, weekly if possible.
For more immediate results, you might want to develop the habit of regular participation in online business and marketing forums, which will be covered in a separate blog post.
