Hello, Warriors:
They say you never get a second chance to make a first impression. This is true with SEO (search engine optimization), too, especially when it comes to deciding your domain name and blog name.
If I knew then what I know now about effective web biz SEO success practices, I would have chosen different names.
Fortunately, there is more to SEO success than just your domain name. Now that I have a little more SEO knowledge, I am finding ways to compensate for earlier "questionable" choices.

Personally, I think the domain name thing is a little over-rated. I've seen sites with really bad names perform very well. I've seen good names go nowhere. It's helpful, but don't emphasize it too much... There are so many other factors.Posted 01-06-2009 at 08:51 AM by purdue512

Point well taken. I agree, it's not always the name, but how a site is marketed that can make the real difference. In fact, if a site is being marketed well (as you have mentioned), the name is a minor factor.
However, it's one more thing that can be considered when a person is new and has the chance to make a choice.
