Here is a quick Web Biz success tip that can help you get the edge on your home based Internet business competitors.
Newcomers to the world of home based web biz opportunities often ask for ideas and tips on building a competitive business. Even experienced online marketers struggle from time-to-time with all the competition out there.
One way to get the edge on other web biz marketers is to become an Internet Spy! The Internet makes it very easy.
What I am talking about is completely honest, legal and ethical.
If you truly want to become better than other online marketers, then the best thing to do is find out what they are doing and how they are doing it, then do it better!
Here’s what you do:
- Do an Internet search for your primary keyword or keyword phrase
- One by one, visit each of the websites that turn up on the first page of the search results ... and take notes!
* Note what products and services they sell
* Note the pricing structure for these products and services
* Note what incentives they offer for making purchases
* Note the methods they use to market their business
* Note their homepage design and website layout, including their index, directory or site map
Basically, what you want to do is identify the strongest features of each of these first-page websites so you can use these winning ideas to redesign and refocus your own home based web biz.
As you can see, this is the ethical way to be an Internet Spy. Another term for it is “market research.” Just as long as you don’t infringe on someone’s copyright in any way; you can’t just copy and paste material from a website without the express permission of the owner.
But you can duplicate their methods and develop a similar line of products and services. And you can draw inspiration from their website design and promotional presentations.
The other aspect to take into consideration is SEO - Search Engine Optimization - both on site and off site. But that is a whole other topic!
As a Web Biz success tip, becoming an Internet Spy may seem fairly basic, but you would be surprised at how many home based Internet business marketers fail to take their competition into consideration.
