Web Biz: Products or Programs?

Internet Marketing is a broad subject that can mean a variety of things to different people. For many, it means home based business opportunities and promoting web biz products or programs.
Most people seem to be attracted to Internet Marketing because of the ease of starting up a home based business and because of the promise of great income potential.
Web biz marketing is a lot like any other business or profession. You first need to learn what it is, then how to do it, then how to do it well, and finally how to do it like a professional for maximum income potential.
This process takes time.
It also takes focus, determination and dedication.
In the beginning, most newbies play follow-the-leader and simply promote the web biz products or programs that attracted them into the business in the first place. This isn’t necessarily the best way to do the business, but it does serve a purpose as far as getting the initial exposure to Internet Marketing and the early training and experience that is needed.
Once new marketers begin to feel their way around and start to get a sense of the way marketing on the Internet works, then they begin to understand a few things about the kinds of products, programs or services that they should be promoting.
Basically, the best rule of thumb is to choose web biz products or programs that you use, or have used, and that you, personally, find to be beneficial and of good quality. If the product or service is so great that you would willingly buy into the company, you can bet you will be able to promote it with enough enthusiasm to make believers of your targeted prospects.
This holds true for both products and programs. Use them, work with them, learn all the features and benefits available and you will be in the best position and the best frame of mind to promote them successfully.
But what should an Internet Market choose? Web biz products or programs?
Web biz products can include physical things like books, materials, software, consumer goods; anything that is delivered into the hands of the customer for their convenience and use.
The product category can also include services. Services can include subscription sales, web hosting, web development, copywriting, access to online utilities; anything where some service is provided to the customer that the customer can’t or won’t do it him or herself.
Web biz programs can include all forms of business and income opportunities, including Multi-Level marketing, Network Marketing, Affiliate Marketing and a variety of other money-making plans.
As with everything else, when choosing web biz products or programs, it comes down to individual preferences. Do you want to provide products and services where you put something directly into the hands of your customers? Or do you want to promote opportunities that empower your prospects to make lifestyle changes on their own?
Once you have tested the items personally, you may want to offer a blend of both products and programs. When doing this, a good rule of thumb is to keep everything within a specific market niche. You can’t be everything to everybody and you will enjoy better results if you “specialize” or focus on a similar line of products, services and programs.
Many affiliate programs offer the best of both worlds: a product that you earn sales commissions on that serves also as a training manual or program for your customer who can then use it to learn how to sell the product to earn extra income.
Again, the important thing is that you have used the product, believe in its value and can promote it confidently.
Internet Marketing success begins with a desire to achieve and a willingness to learn.
