Google forced my Hand

Posted 02-06-2012 at 07:34 AM by igorGriffiths

Well hello

This has been something that has been on my mind since Google banned me from using Youtube on one of my accounts.

How much does your business rely upon the good mood of Google for its operations?

Mine way too much

With many Gmail accounts used to serve Twitter profiles and my entire social media presense located on one account...they did have quite literally my business by the balls.

Today they decided to close my adsense account for as always an unspecified breach of their T&C's, the only thing I use adsense code on is a couple of sites, I long abandoned and my blog which was added 2 days ago.

This is what I mean about their tantrums and mood swings, hardly a good business partner.

Therefore to secure my business, I am moving my emails back in house and using Google only where I have no choice, ie Youtube.

As for G+, no way this is purely a data bank as is Facebook for their advertisers, especially now that all your activity profiles on Google sites can be shared with their advertising community.

So as always there is plenty to do in IM and as always you need to watch the motives of those that you work with.
