How Many Times Have You Started A Blog?

I think I have lost count how many times that I have thought about starting a blog or even more thought about re-starting my personal blog.

I had my first blog eventually up and running back in 2008 after much frustration and having to write out numerous support tickets I made it.

However, one of my enemies turned u and put a stop on it growing any further and his name was PROCRASTINATION.

That old devil gets to me on a daily basis but I think that I can go back into battle with him again, not because I am rid of the habit but because I now know that it is my problem.

I've always known that I'd got an issue with following through with stuff pretty much all my life, but as you get older you find yourself analyzing you more than others do.

I was looking at my personal blog the other day RickEllwood.com and realized that it had been almost 5 months since I'd started it again and had only made one or two posts.

The post was about a challenge that I had given myself on a live group video chat get together on a platform called Blab ( no longer available).

The challenge that I gave myself was to launch my first product by the time we were to have another Blab meeting.

The people on the panel were established internet marketers, Huw Hughes and Rob J Temple and Andy Brocklehurst. The group was called the IMPub and as you would do in a pub here in the UK you would have an alcoholic beverage whilst chatting to each other.

Well as you can guess if the night rolls on and you keep drinking, you find yourself either talking broken biscuits or you make a fool of yourself or worse if you can't handle your drink.

It wasn't that I couldn't handle my drink but I did maybe make a fool of myself because I openly put it out here that I was going to create my first product because I was kind of ashamed that I had been at this IM stuff since May of 2008 and still not made a product!

Hew Hughes asked me a few questions and diagnosed me as a PROCRASTINATOR and even though at the time I knew he was right in his assumption, I felt confident that I could meet the deadline and thought I would be victorious by the following fortnight's agreed meeting deadline.

I managed to come up with a product that I felt at the time was unique in that nobody had done a wSO on the method before to my knowledge and that I had a chance to actually make a few dollars once it went live.

You may have guessed that I didn't get to finish it in time and to be fair I was struggling with differentiating what part was going to be my sales letter and which part was the report.

Luckily for me, the Blab meeting got canceled due to Blab calling it a day which meant we had to find another platform for the IMPub to continue. The tech gurus on the IMPub group eventually found a great replacement for Blab that can work alongside facebook a few weeks later.

I, however, had not found my mojo to complete my challenge and was avoiding a return to the Friday night IMPub due to some feelings of embarrassment and unworthiness to take part again until I had at least achieved product creator status!

I did eventually return to the IMPub a couple of weeks ago and also last Friday evening ( Christmas Eve, Eve) to celebrate 1 year IMPub's anniversary.

Nothing was said about my failure to reach my challenge but I still felt as though I had no right to be part of the panel on screen as I was the only person in there who wasn't what I would call an internet marketer.

I mean, how can you call yourself anything if you don't actually do anything related to that description?
You are what you do, not what you say you do!

Well, here I am on this Christmas Day typing away looking back on not only this year but right back to May of 2008 when I first started my journey down the internet marketing road.

Yes, I am a PROCRASTINATOR but let me finish with a promise and in the words of the TERMINATOR "I'll be back"! And in the words of Delboy Trotter "Never Stop Believing".

No, let me really finish with what I used to sign off with on my very first blog post on my very first blog (You can look it up on the way back machine if you don't believe me ).

Stay Focused
