It was all about Attraction. Let me explain. I was laid off in January and was actually quite pleased about it because I had achieved 30 years of service which qualified me for access to health benefits, a pension and 401k. I know that’s not the case for many Americans but I believe it happen that way for me so I could fulfill my mission.
I spent the first few months of retirement getting things done around the house that I had been putting off until the right moment. In May my eldest son, Samuel graduated from Texas A&M and I spent a few months working on his graduation activities for family and friends. Once he graduated it hit me, there’s no more job to go to your career is over I thought.
I looked online and decided to take a Project Management course and obtain the PMP certification. My class was canceled twice as corporations were pulling students out of it because of the economy and by now it’s late August. I took a look at some goals I had written down back in December for the new 2009 year and one of them among the PMP Certification was to become proficient at online marketing. I was already working in the MLM industry partime before I got laid off and really did not enjoy the offline way of marketing the business. So I turned to the internet and declared I would market my MLM business online.
September came and my husband, Marvin told me his oncologist wanted to meet with us at his next appointment. Marvin has had stage 4 prostate cancer for the past 5 years which has metastasized to his bones. I knew this call from the doctor was not a good sign. We met with the doctor he basically gave Marvin a few months to live.
Marvin being the great husband and father he is started worrying about the welfare of his family in the event of him not being around. I suggested that he stop worrying; give me until the end of the year to get my online business moving forward or I would go back to work.
I begin working 10, 12, 14 hour days learning all I could about marketing online. I saw the information on SEO Networker and thought if I could master this SEO skill I can achieve success online with my business. So I started searching and reading everything I could about SEO. I decided to write a few posts on LinkedIn, Facebook, tweet about it and post on my blog. The more discussions I posted the more I learned and when I was announced as one of the winners I was ecstatic. I reflected on how it all happened and realized, being laid off, coming to terms with Marvin’s illness and having a desire to be successful in online marketing was all about attraction.
The Law of Attraction and Attraction Marketing helped me win this SEO Networker Mastermind Scholarship through thought and energy towards achieving a goal. Inspite of or maybe because of life issues, massive action and a burning desire, I attracted SEO Networker to me.
I am so grateful for it and will use it to make my business a success and share the knowledge learned with others online. Thank you Ray and Ferny.
Marvin told me the hell with what the doctor is saying and he won’t quit living until he quits. So this past Sunday he entered a Masters Seniors Track Meet and high jumped 5’ 5” and won the gold medal at 58 years old.
