Read, enjoy, and learn from my journey as I go from making about $7 a day in Internet Marketing to making a full time living.
My Internet Marketing Success (Or Lack Thereof) So Far
Posted 04-15-2011 at 10:38 AM by iuzeit
Today, I make on average around $7 a day from Internet Marketing.
My earnings vary, but as you can see they currently range between $200 and $300 a month.

Most of my earnings come from Adsense. I do have Amazon links on a lot of my websites, but I consider Amazon income “extra”. My goal is to earn most of my money through Adsense.
Is $7 a day a lot of money?
Ummm…no.
$7 a day is not a lot of money to make online. Individual people (not just companies) make so much more than that. But while it’s not a lot of money, I also don’t want to minimize my earnings.
I don’t make a lot of money online, but what I do make is basically on auto-pilot. I have several websites that I haven’t touched in a year or more still bringing in anywhere from $20 - $200 annually. So I have a self-sustaining, residual income albeit very small.
Clearly, I’m not making a killing, but I make enough to do some extra stuff along the way when I want to. I do usually invest all of my earnings back into my websites, but if I wanted to go to a baseball game, buy a new guitar, or just blow a few hundred dollars, I have that option.
But, even though I don’t make a lot of money online, some people would love to get up to $7 a day in residual income. In fact, some people are in a position where that much money could really make a big difference in their life. So for the sake of not starting a story in the middle, let me summarize what I have done to reach this point.
What did I do to get where I am?
I started in Internet Marketing in the middle of 2009. I dabbled in this and dabbled in that, but I made my first consistent money online by following Xfactor’s Micro Niche Adsense Course.
I started by creating mini-sites revolving around products on Amazon. Now these were truly minisites – they all started with 1 post of content about 500-words long. I threw Adsense on them, placed some Amazon links on them, and I went to the next site. By the end of the year, I probably had 25 or so sites up and running. Most of these had 1 page of content with a few EzineArticle backlinks to them.
I remember the Black Friday right after Thanksgiving in 2009 I checked my Adsense account and was just so excited that I made $7 that day! I thought that was absolutely awesome and that I was on my way.
My highest earning month ever
I soon realized that Black Friday had been an aberration and that money didn’t just come rolling in. Nonetheless, I was making about $100 a month before long and decided that I would keep at it.
I created another 25 websites or so using Xfactor’s minisite program. The problem with creating so many websites is that it was easy for me to burn-out. So I worked for a while and then quit. Then I worked for a while longer and then quit. I even had some URLs that I had bought that I never bothered to build a website around. In essence, I was just getting bored of the work.
It was really a struggle for me to keep going. I just wasn’t excited about the work. But since I was still seeing extra income, I kept going and had my highest-earning month ever – May, 2010.
In May, I made almost $350 in one month. Even though I hadn’t been working consistently, I gotta say that I was pretty happy about making $350 a month of residual income!
MayDay Google update disaster
But then Google rolled out its MayDay update, and my earnings plummeted. I earned around $170 in June, and my earnings fluctuated between $150 - $250 for the next several months.
Between June and September, 2010, I didn’t work on my websites consistently at all. I would play around with them for a day or two, but then I would go onto something else.
The interesting part though, is that even though I stopped for several months, the money still kept coming in. Even though I didn’t touch most of my sites at all, I was still earning between $200 - $250 every month. So while I wasn’t making a lot, what I was making kept coming in slowly but surely.
Even more micro-niche sites
Seeing this residual income, I decided to go all out around September, 2010 with Micro-Niche sites. I wrote a program to research niches and found more than 200 URLs that were available. I ended up buying about 100 of them and paid to have content (1 post of 500 words) written for each website.
I didn’t backlink to them except for using OnlyWire to bookmark the site once it was complete. In fact, many of the micro-niche websites (even the ones making money) that I created in October, 2010, still don’t have any backlinks.
However, I am making most of my money today from the websites I created just recently. I have a few of the original websites doing OK, but since I’ve not updated them in sometime or sent any backlinks their way, I do see their traffic dropping.
That’s all
So that is enough background for now. You can tell that most of my money comes from micro niche websites, but I have also waded into building bigger sites with a lot more content. I will get more into that in the later posts.
