Naturally, this blog is going to be about how to make money online. What else would I be writing about here? There's no plan or purpose though. Just a place to share some insights every now and then when I've got more to say than I can fit in a forum post.

I’ve spent a lot of money on internet marketing products and no one will tell you that quicker than my wife! I’ve bought eBooks, software, scripts, hosting, domain names and auto responders, and it’s all been money well spent because there is simply no way to do effective internet marketing without spending money. I’ve also spent money on advertising and particularly pay-per-click advertising that has been well prepared, researched and budgeted and it’s been very effective.
However, the best money I’ve ever spent to make money online was for a cheap generic brand $30 2GB mp3 voice recorder. This little magic box has helped me to write more blog posts, more articles and more products and therefore helped me build my brand and reputation quickly.
I’m not a bad writer. I managed to get through law school and my career as a tax consultant required me to write a lot of reports. But it’s not something I really like to do when I have the choice. The number of thoughts that come into my head and the speed with which they come at times makes it impossible to record everything in a word processor or notebook and sometimes it's just a chore to type or write.
My cheap mp3 recorder allows me to take a few minutes in the car or on a walk and capture everything I want to say in my blog and other thoughts that go into writing my newsletter or creating my web products - easy!
This blog itself is something I created in audio first - sitting in my car after being in the office for most of a Saturday. I had these thoughts going through my head and I knew that I just wouldn’t be able to maintain once I got home and then spent time playing with my kids and catching up with my wife (and do the housework she inevitable asks me to do).
Most nights, if I’m lucky and if I can keep my eyes open late enough, I get time to sit down at the computer before going to bed, but by then the trains of thought I've had during the day have mostly been derailed. Being able to record these thoughts as they come is just invaluable because it makes sure my ideas, articles, blog posts and products aren’t lost.
Also, I’m the kind of person who struggles to capture my thoughts on paper or a keyboard. I just can't write or type quick enough to keep up. I’ve always been much better at talking, particularly if I’ve had too much caffeine as I usually have. Also, I can just upload the audio file and make it available for download as is.
I would never have thought I could make money online with a device like this.
