Each and every morning that we wake up and get out of bed is a new adventure that we are setting out for. Do we know what is going to happen in that 24 hour time slot? We try to schedule but we really do not know how the day is going to go.

What if:

1) Everything goes great!

2) Everything seems to fall apart.

We all have days where we feel that we are on topside and we all have the days where it seems that the world is falling in around us. Does your attitude change depending on the type of day you are having? Probably! But it shouldn’t. I am not one to talk because I have a problem with this also but we really should not get so upset that we lose focus on our day.

If we do some planning for the following day before we fall asleep at night you would be surprised how much easier it seems to be able to stay on task and push forward toward our goals!

1) What is your long term goal? Do you even have one? You MUST have a long term goal to have something big to push towards. This will be different for different people and situations.

2) Create short term goals that will eventually lead you to your long term goals.

3) When planning the night before think about what has been accomplished in the day that you just lived through and make notes on what went well and what you may need to work on.

4) Plan the following day out the best that you can. Try to accomplish something each and every day that will bring you closer to your goals.

I would like to stop right there for a second and say that I am as busy as anyone but you can accomplish something each and everyday that will bring you to your goals. If you can’t there is one of two problems: you are maybe on the lazy side or you just don’t want it bad enough.

5) Try to stick to your plans for the following day. You will be blindsided by something totally unexpected at sometime in your life and probably on a consistent basis. I don’t say that to be pessimistic. I say that so you will be prepared!

With a plan in place for the following day you have a roadmap to stick to and I promise you that your days will become more productive immediately. Push forward towards the goal in your life each and everyday and you will be successful. Start with planning.
