Don't you hate it when Google decides to scare the living daylights out of you when you wake up in the morning, check where your site is in the search results and see -- IT'S GONE! Geez.
Then during the day, it suddenly shows up, and then it dances around all over the place -- position 13, position 5 (!), position7, position 10, etc etc.
Enough to drive you crazy. Incidentally, Angela Edwards turned me on to a neat resource, it lets you check where your site ranks w/o telling google who you are. You see, your search history, and other information google has about you, influences what search results you see. If you use this tool, you can see what other people that google knows nothing about see, when they search for your term.

I think I am surely missing something here. How can you check where your site ranks w/o telling google who you are with http://www.pagewash.com/
To me it looked like any other proxy site.
Would thank you to explain me about it.

Togdil - You can use the proxy to do a google search and not have your history influence the process. You can also use incognito browsing in Chrome or private browsing in IE 8 to accomplish the same thing.
