How A Facebook Page For Your Website Can Help

Posted 06-30-2011 at 03:36 AM by JoelWong

So if you own a website, and you do not have a Facebook page for it yet, or you are considering whether you should create a Facebook page for your forum, maybe this article can help you out. I will be explaining to you how you can create a Facebook page for your website and why you should create a Facebook page for it.

Facebook is currently the leading social networking site on the internet today. The statistics of Facebook are as shown below.

- More than 500 million active users
- 50% of our active users log on to Facebook in any given day
- Average user has 130 friends
- People spend over 700 billion minutes per month on Facebook

You get to enjoy many benefits if you have a Facebook page for your website, such as the ones listed below.

- Keep your members and readers updated on site events/milestones etc.
- A good way to get your members and readers to get connected.
- Extra traffic source for your website.

- Plus so much more ...

I myself own a forum (Advertise Hotspot), and I have also created a Facebook page for the forum. I think its a really good way to keep my forum members updated and to let them know what's happening around the forum. You can check out Advertise Hotspot's Facebook page here.

Now, if you ever want to create a Facebook page for your website, but do not know how to, I will now explain it to you in 3 simple steps. Its very simple and will only take you less than 5 minutes to get everything set up and working.

1. Login to your Facebook account, and visit this link - https://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php
2. Than pick a category that suits your forum.
3. Type in your forum name and agree to the TnC.

And there you have it! You can customize your Facebook page or add additional information about your website. When you have successfully created your Facebook page, Facebook will automatically bring you to a "welcome" page. There you can add a image for your page, invite your friends to join the page, post status updates, and promote your page by adding a like box or a badge on your site. Don't forget you can navigate to the links displayed on the left sidebar, right under the display picture of your page.

I wish you the best and I hope you have found this article useful. Don't forget to promote your Facebook page on your website and maybe throw in a reward or two if your member or readers "likes" the page!

Enjoy!
- Joel
