Using Smart Titles for Forum Threads

Posted 07-21-2011 at 10:21 PM by kindsvater

The Warrior Forum has power with search engines like Google that your website probably does not have.

Like Wikipedia, content on the forum can (1) quickly appear on Google, and (2) be highly ranked.

Put that same content on your website and you hear crickets from Google.

It may not be fair, but that's the way Google works.

So I'm running a little experiment.

Something you can see how it turns out.

I just created a WSO with the simple title:

"How to Make Money"

Very simple title. Almost looks lost in the sea of hyped WSOs.

My purpose here is not to promote that WSO, but to open your eyes to this ....

The search phrase: how to make money

Gets a lot of searches every month.

It is also extremely competitive.

So if you are going to target an extremely competitive keyword, will you have more success with your own website, or with the Warrior Forum?

I'm not even going to try and rank for that term on my site.

In this experiment, I'm using the Warrior Forum as an extension of my website. The Warrior Forum is my sales page.

Backlinks I create will be to the Warrior Forum. Not to my website.

Interesting concept!

I don't expect anything grand to happen quickly. Again, this is an extremely competitive search phrase.

But in the upcoming months, let us see what happens!

The ultimate point being that you can use the power of the forum in other places. Such as the articles subforum.

Be smart about what keyword you use for your article title.
