Experiments in increasing page authority with social shares

I have been very busy on the SEO front lately, the other night whilst trying to turn my mind off so I could get to sleep I had a old thought resurfaced. Instead of looking to add/ find / create more links why not simply re enforce the sites already existing links by strengthening the page authority. I picked a link page on a forum we use that has the link text of ebay shop design
I couldnt help but turn the laptop on with the intention of just writing a note for me to remember in morning. Anyway I just have a quick test, I ran the open site link check and picked one of our strongest links and decided to do a mass share , I auto submitted to 15 sb networks and pushed this out to around 100 friends with similarish number of networks, when I awoke next day I could see there were 600+ shares against the URL
The page authority hasnt increased yet but last month it took 24 days to see a page authority increase, I will update the blog with the results.
