I don't claim to have any magic key that will make you rich.
I can say that I have been sweating the details of making money
online since 1999 and have learned a thing or two.
It is unlikely you will find great life-changing insights in my
ramblings... but who knows, maybe something you read here
is the right puzzle-piece for you at the right time.
Enjoy. Let me know if you dig it.

"Yes Man" Jim Carrey and the psychology of Regre

"Yes Man", Jim Carrey, and the psychology of Regret
you probably wonder where I get the ideas for things
to write about.
Two ways:
1. Reading
2. Observation of human behavior
I have found that the study of "persuasion" is like money
in the bank in terms of marketing success. So I read
about it often and pursue opportunities to learn more
about persuasion.
Under the umbrella-term of persuasion are aspects of
salesmanship, copywriting, neuro-lingusitic patterning,
and other names for the connected disciplines of getting
other people to take the action you want them to.
Getting others to take the action you recommend is in
fact central to your success in business and in life. If
you had no influence over your children what do you think
your chances of raising productive, responsible adults
would be?
Practically nil.
So - in order to succeed you must learn to persuade
others to your way of thinking.
It my case, right now, I am working to persuade you and
many other people that the WebProsperity program is an
exceptional vehicle for you to make a lot of money on the
internet starting now and continuing for many, many years.
Even if the program does not itself last you will, under
my guidance, learn skills and build relationships which
you will be able to leverage into life-long wealth.
However - in order to get what you want, the lifestyle
of success, admiration, comfort, and abundance everybody
truly desires you must recognize within yourself and
within other people that there are TWO dominant modes
of response to opportunity.
Did you get that?
There are 2. There are the people who are wired to say
YES and there are the people who are wired to say NO. For
the sake of argument we will suppose that 80% of the
people are wired to say "no" and about 20% are wired
to say "yes".
These people not only have a more or less knee-jerk "yes"
or "no" reaction to the unfamiliar, they experience the
consequences of their decisions in profoundly different
ways.
The "no" people probably grew up hearing "no" all the time
and perhaps had other experiences which contributed to
them being risk-averse. When presented with an opportunity
that entails any risk at all these people immediately
react with a "no". While they may actually look into it
further and change that "no" into a "yes" the underlying
principle of the way these people experience the feeling
of REGRET is extremely interesting.
"No" people experience regret over all the times they said
"yes" in the past and failed to get what they wanted. So,
to go back to adolescence - the boy who is a "no" would
finally work up the courage to say "yes" to asking a girl
to dance, and if she were to turn him down he would
in the future experience regret over ever asking. Of
course this pattern would make it difficult for him to
ask the world for dates with pretty girls, opportunities
for career success, regognition for achievement, and so
forth.
In fact since 80% of the people go through life regreting
the times they said "YES" and failed, their dominant mode
of response to new opportunity is to say "NO!" in
order to protect themselves from the anticipated future
painful feelings of regret.
To be successful, and truly enjoy life, you must really
make a sincere effort to change your mode of response to
opportunity from "no" to "yes". I am not saying that
you should seize on everything that comes along - that
would be foolish and dangerous to your well-being.
The "YES" person has the characteristics of the most
successful entrepreneurs, movie stars, sports heroes,
and admired public figures. "Yes" people experience
regret mostly over the opportunities they DID NOT seize.
Did you get THAT?
I'll rephrase: People who say "yes" experience are
further motivated to say "yes" to a greater range of
life experiences because they experience REGRET
over things they said "no" to. Not the things they
said "yes" to.
So saying "YES" more often to life's opportunities puts
those people who choose to say "yes" more often in position
not only to experience greater success in all areas of
life, but also in a position to experience greater
feelings of enjoyment and less regret.
Remember - "yes" people and "no" people experience regret
and success in profoundly different ways.
There is a movie out right now called "YES MAN" with Jim
Carrey in it. I think the guy is brilliant. I haven't
seen the film yet but I gather it's about a guy who always
says "no" is persuaded on a bet or a dare to say "YES"
to every question anybody asks of him for a week or
something. He of course experiences all sorts of crazy
adventures he would otherwise have never had and also
gets the girl, and so on.
A profound lesson, right?
Here's what I would like you to do.
Say YES to prosperity in 2009.
Let me help you turn your "NO" to opportunity into
a profound and resounding "YES".
Wishing You True Success and Fulfillment in 2009,
