How to Attain The Mobile Marketer’s Success Mindset
Posted 09-05-2011 at 03:21 AM by Mary Wilhite
Like most success in any calling in life, I find that the secret to success in mobile marketing not only depends in planning and hardwork but in several attitudes as well. Here I’ll discuss the mindset I consider to be important in making it as a successful mobile marketer.
Like you, I too started as a newbie and had troubles as well in the beginning. However, I never stopped trying and with passion I was able to accomplish things others can only dream of. My first success in mobile marketing was when I was able to help 185 small businesses establish their presence online, offline and via mobile media.
It wasn’t easy, but my strong passion to help and succeed fueled me up and I did it all in 30 days.
I can still recall the happy and satisfied expression on my client’s faces. It was more rewarding than the money I received for doing a job well done.
Do I attribute it to just hard work and planning? Well I can attribute half of it to hard work and planning however, the other half I attribute to my mindset. I’m sharing this with you with the hope that you too will practice it and succeed.
1. Put passion in the things you do.
It’s easier if you already like what you do before you even do it but that is rarely the case. Others think that being passionate about earning is enough. That’s alright but it can only take you half way. You must find things in what you do that you can be passionate about other than cash. Try to be passionate about making your clients happy and satisfied with your service and you’ll see that you’re more motivated to reach your agreed goal.
2. Develop people skills.
I wouldn’t have connected with all these businesses if I didn’t have people and networking skills. You may think that you’re just shy to deeply connect and network with people and can’t do it. Let me tell you it isn’t really hard and you can start developing great people skills by starting with basic courtesy.
You can start with good manners and it can take you a long way. Respect your clients and treat them the way you want to be treated. Deliver what you promise and you’ll gain lifetime clients and even get their friends as well.
3. Be professional.
Do what you say you’ll do. Deliver your promise and if you can’t, then talk to them and open up the issues. Work with them to resolve the problem and create a better solution. As long as you are a consultant there will always be problems. You must learn to be a problem solver and keep on trying to find solutions.
4. Be true to yourself.
Do you want to be a mobile marketer because you like the idea and believe you got what it takes to serve clients as a mobile marketing expert? Or are you just in it because you heard that there’s money to be made? If you are just in it because you heard that there’s money to be made, then before you go to sign-up clients be sure to have the proper training/coaching first or maybe put up a team to do the work for you and just be the broker.
If not, when you start facing problems you’ll have nothing to hold on to get the courage and perseverance needed to complete the job.
These are the 4 mind states I consider to be valuable if you want to succeed in this field. If you put passion in your work it will seem like play, develop people skills and you will make friends for life in this industry, be professional and you’ll go a long way, and finally be true to yourself. No one else can do that for you except YOU.
