So Many Affiliate Offers, So Little Time

For the beginning affiliate marketer, it is very
easy to become overwhelmed with too many
options. There are hundreds of networks and
thousands of products to promote; Amazon to
Zales and everything in between. Toys, travel,
clothing, healthcare and everything you can
imagine has an affiliate program.
So how do you choose? Do you promote a little
bit of everything, or do you focus your efforts
on one product or category. If you attempt to
diversify too broadly, it becomes burdensome
because now you must familiarize yourself with
multiple products. You need to know something
about the items you are going to promote so
this can become problematic. If you outsource
content development, copywriting, and other
marketing efforts, you must ensure that your
written materials are on target.
To eliminate those problems, you can focus on
one type of product/category, for example
computers and software. This way you are
better able to familiarize yourself with the
products without becoming even further
overwhelmed.
Whatever you decide, go with what works for
you and don't try to keep up with the "super
affiliates." Everyone has to start from the
beginning and so it's advisable to start slowly
and build your business up gradually, spending
a few hours every day promoting your sites,
learning new methods, developing new content
and keeping abreast of industry changes.
