Niche marketing articles and digital products touting the virtues of niche marketing are saturating the online article directories and forums.

For those of you who are new to Internet marketing, you have already, or soon will, be told that "finding a niche market" is the smartest way to online fortunes.

Here is one example of a popular product title that I discovered and purchased while surfing the Internet one day. "Niche Marketing on Crack." (It was very good by the way.)

Here is the opening headline from the Niche Marketing on Crack sales page…

"If You Knew How To Easily Create One Single Page Website That Earned You $3600 A Year…

If You Knew You Could Create That Site In Just ONE DAY…

If You Knew That This Site Would Be Putting Cash In Your Pocket In Just A Few Days Time…

HOW MANY SITES WOULD YOU MAKE??"

Interesting concept and question. What if the author is right? What would the information about niche marketing that he is sharing be worth?

Niche marketing is one of the most important subjects for you to understand in order to become profitable with your online business. Many niche marketing secrets have been revealed and are relatively easy to find at online article directories. Other secrets are closely guarded and can only be pried out of the owner on pain of death or, for say, 47 bucks.

No matter how far you have to search or how deep you need to dig to come to a clear understanding of what niche marketing is it’s worth it. I’ll add a further challenge and say that understanding niche marketing is as important as understanding keyword research or search engine optimization

Niche Marketing Definition:
The word "niche" is defined as: “A special area of demand for a product or service”. "Marketing" is defined as: “The opportunity to buy or sell”. If you put the two words together, niche marketing means buying or selling a product or service in a special area of demand. All that really means is that a product or service is being sold to the people who are most interested in that particular product or service and not to the world in general.

Niche Market Example:
Oftentimes big businesses use niche marketing. A company that makes computers and computer accessories might advertise a lower cost all-in-one copy/printer/scanner to the home computer user while at the same time advertising premium single-function machines to large businesses.

Niche Marketing and Advertising Budgets:
One of the things that make niche marketing so attractive to sellers is that their advertising budgets go further. It costs less to advertise to a specialized market (i.e. niche market) than it does to advertise to a broader market.

The Niche Marketing Strategy:
Niche marketing must be designed to meet the unique needs of the targeted audience. Niche marketers must tailor their product to meet those unique needs. What you need to understand is that providing specific products for specific people is actually easier than an all-in-one product for everybody.

More Niche Marketing Strategies:
If, you have designed a product to make poodle grooming easy enough for the untrained professional to do, those who own poodles will be most interested in your product. Animal trainers for circuses who own lions and elephants probably wouldn’t be interested.

If you write an eBook that explains how to start and succeed at an online business, those who are looking for information on starting online businesses are your niche market. Those who are happy flipping burgers at fast food restaurants won’t be.

Niche marketing is a very effective and cost efficient way to advertise and sell specific products or services to a specific audience or, hopefully, buyers of that product or service. With a dose of niche market research and a good product to place in front of buyers you will be realizing profits from your niche marketing endeavors.

To your online success,
