I know that many people on this forum are doing internet marketing and so most of their business if not all is from the internet. Whether it be websites, blogs, capture pages, ebooks etc. However, you still are dealing with people.

People buy into You
  • They make a connection with you.
  • They establish a relationship with you.
  • They build an emotional attachment to you.
  • Ultimately, they buy into your personal brand.
So there is a really good rule when it comes to
relationship marketing.

80% Relationship
20% Marketing

In other words, when you send out a message don't always make it a marketing message. For example: Make a video that shows who you are, maybe playing golf or in your backyard barbequing on a holiday. Make it a Happy Holiday to you video.

Give them tips on how to do something that is relevant to them and part of your product line but
not as a marketing (buy this now). Instead give away 10 tips on how to fix something or do something.

Some of you have a personal repoire with your customers/clients. Many have bought several things from you over time. So in this case find out about them and their family. Make a special effort
to send a special note or better yet get their mailing
address if you don't already have it and send a personalized card on a birthday or anniversary. Make it special. ( I actually can help you with this.)

or, maybe they have not bought a lot from you in the past, do the same thing. Get their address, send a card.

Then do your marketing. Special offer, new product etc.

Remember the best rule is: 80% Relationship
20% Marketing.

You will be surprised at how well you do with this Philosophy.

Until next time,
