So to get my PLR business off the ground, I decided to do a little practice writing work, just to see how my quality of work was seen. The problem is, right now bills are a little tight, and I already work 60-75 hours a week! I really wanted to find a way to get paid, even a little bit, to improve my skill and up my reputation.
Enter Fiverr!! This site is amazing. I posted two gigs on the site; one offering five 400 word articles and a suggested keyword list of 20 words for $5, and a rewrite job of 5 articles for $5 bucks. In both cases, I figured it would expose me to a number of different niches, and get to see what other people were doing.
Honestly, I didn't figure I would get too many hits. After all, there are THOUSANDS of people offering similar writing services on Fiverr, plus I was new and had no feedback.
Well, I think I underestimated the power of cheap labor. Within a day I had 4 orders. I"m up to 6, and it's so exciting!!! Granted, it's been a decent amount of work so far, and I"m a little afraid of getting behind (but I did give myself 5 days for PLR articles & 4 days for rewrites), so I think I can space it out enough.
I completed my first job in 24 hours, and got a positive review. I have to admit, I was terrified to submit what I had worked on for this person. So scared, in fact, that I almost considered canceling the order and taking down the gigs.
But I realized that this is something that I want. I've wanted a successful business for so long now, and for the first time I'm seeing clear steps on how to achieve that.
Yes, it's going to be terrifying; I'm stepping out of my comfort zone and putting myself out there. And yes, everything is not going to turn out just as I hoped ever time. Yes, people are going to be mean and I'm going to have to get over that!
I'm just excited because for the first time in my online career, I have a clear plan in place that I am following, fears and all!
So I guess what I'm saying is, if you're struggling to find your place on the web, don't give up. There are a million ways to make money online, you just have to find the one that resonates with you and keeps you moving.
