Have anyone heard about a story about Standford University? I don't know if this is a true thing or just a story. Let's take this as a story... I guess a person's outlook can really affect others' decision on one's impression. The result: It may not be as bad as we think...

Once there was an old couple and their only son were accepted by the Yale University in a master's degree program. Unfortunately, their son got into a car accident and died right before the master program started.

The old couple dressed decent but very causal, went to Yale and requested to see the headmaster (HM) of Yale University. At first, the HM's secretary refused the old couples' request, told them to wait at the waiting room. A couple hours later, because the couple were still sitting at the waiting room, the secretary decided to notify the the HM about a pair of "causal" dressed old couple, did not look "Rich" at all, are waiting to see him. With the same reaction as the secretary, the HM did not want to waste his "precious" time to see the "non-rich" and un-invited guests.

Another 2 hours went by, the old couple are waiting patiently in the room. It's almost evening time; the HM finally agreed to see the couple. The old men started the conversation about his son's dream about getting accepted by Yale, but unfortunately, there was an accident killed him and his dream. Now that their son was dead, the old couple wanted to donate every single penny of what their son left - the son's life insurance and reimbursement from the other parties, and the couple savings for their son's master degree to the Yale University.; and use these money built a facility or library on behalf of their son.

The HM and the secretary started laughing and asked the couple if they knew how much it would cost to build a new facility or library at an University. The couple looked at each other and left the HM's office. About a year or two later, there was another University built in the United States, named Standford University.

    Thank you for your comment.

It's a "story," as I said in the subject. I heard this story long time ago. My point is, some people judge others base on their outlook, especially when it involves the subject of "money"; at the end, it is possible these people miss a great opportunity. From time to time, I see "money" as an evil matter because it causes so much trouble in one's life.
