2011 Design Trends - Mobile Browsing

Continuing our look on Design Trends in 2011, today we are looking at Mobile Browsing.
Mobile devices like the iPhone and iPad have been selling like hot cakes for the last two years and mobile browsing features predominately in there usage. Most people have created a separate, smaller, cut down versions of there website enabling a smoother experience for the mobile user, problem with this method is just that – a cut down experience featuring less content for your mobile users.
You need to make sure that your site does not cut down on the content for mobile users. Making sure you have a scalable content, even video that can be viewed on mobile devices will not degrade the experience you will have with your site. Users will thank you for this by retuning time and time again.
We also recommend featuring a link back to the original site, giving the user the choice rather than forcing them to use the cut down site will keep a user happy, many times I myself have stopped using a site due to the mobile front end forcing me to use the reduced content site – its just not worth taking that shortcut with your mobile site.http://www.orderof47.com/2011-design...bile-browsing/
