Bought Some Backlinks And The Page Has Disappeared

I recently bought 20 quality backlinks for one of my sites. Since then, the site has disappeared from page four to nowhere. I wonder if this is normal? Will it ever come back, and come back at a better position because of the backlinks? Still have to find out.
It's a music group fan site, in case you wonder. It's just a forum, but the keyword domain has more than 12 000 exact searches per month. It is monetized with one single Adsense banner.
