No record of 'gag order' in AdSurfDaily Case
Posted 08-12-2008 at 11:40 AM by Patrick Pretty
Reports appeared online this morning that AdSurfDaily owner Andy Bowdoin wasn't permitted to speak in a conference call with ASD members because a "gag order" had been handed down.
No such order appears to be part of the public record.
Public records show Bowdoin, 74, donated money to a political committee a few weeks prior to the state and federal investigations into his business practices. How Bowdoin presented the money to the committee is unclear.
Prosecutors allege ASD money was used to purchase homes in South Carolina and Florida. U.S. Attorney Jeffrey A. Taylor of the District of Columbia is heading the federal investigation.
Agents seized $53 million and the two homes last week.
