You ever wonder what it was like marketing on the internet 15 years ago? And how that was as opposed to how it is now? Maybe not - as it changes a lot - every 2 WEEKS or so. But I have seen them Come and I have seen the Go (give up) - and I'm still standing - I'm still here and making $$ . I do have a lot of knowledge I have gleaned over the years and some of it from way back is still pretty dern handy stuff!

How to Make Money online without ever having a Website
Posted 08-08-2008 at 04:12 PM by privateye2500
No Website Needed!
* * * * * * * * * * I want you to know I am NOT selling anything here,
I am not gaining anything by trying to help the *newbie*to
making $$ online - I am just *doing* it because I want to -
I want people to see in an easy to follow step-by-step method
EXACTLY how to do it; and that it CAN be done and it isn't even hard.
When many people think about making money on the internet, most make the wrong assumption that "oh, it's just too much work; too much to learn; I don't know how to make a website; I don't know anything about marketing, I don't know html, etc....on and on.
You have defeated yourself before you probably even entered the room the computer is in or lay a pinky to the keyboard!
Stop that! Stop with the I CAN'T and get busy with the "I CAN" (the little train that could was right you know) and I Know about such and such. And even if you don't know about anything (which is HIGHLY unlikely) - I'll give you that too.
I am going to tell you how very easy it is to make an income on the internet without having to know ANY html, without knowing anything about java (and I don't mean coffee), without learning how to get high search engine rankings, without PAYING for traffic and WITHOUT ever having a website (if you don't want one). And, NO, this is NOT AN AD!!! (But I do believe once upon a time-I actually PAID someone for this simple advice. See my point?)
Do you even have to lift a finger?
YES ;} But again, it isn't hard and if you are blogging; you already know how to do one very valuable thing towards your goal and don't even know it. Can you write a half decent article? Then you can make money online.
There are many formulas; I am going to give you one. One for the ease of blog-flow. lol. If you just follow through with these simple instructions; you will be on your way to not only earning extra income but having FUN doing it; making friends doing it; learning fun stuff doing it.
The only tricky part of this is trying to decide which formula to tell you about -- I've given this a lot of thought; after all I've been in business online for over a decade and it is my SOLE income (which has nothing to DO with writing as in Selling what I write) but I have to Know how to write to make a sales page in my business. I need to know how to Sell myself - to BRAND myself.
I don't HAVE another job I have to go to everyday - I just have to get out of bed, take 2 left turns and I'm at the office!
So I said to myself - Melanie, if your best friend came to you and said she lost her job; had no rent money and was nearing being evicted - what would I tell her?
Well, since she doesn't HAVE a computer (but does know how to use one) - the first thing I'd do would be give/lend her one of my laptops and say LISTEN UP! Get a pen and paper, write this all down and you'll be fine!
#1 - Make this list and then go to each of these websites and sign up for every one of them and do it in this basic order as well. Notice they are ALL social-networking site.
Join:
Hubpages.com
Facebook.com
Linkedin.com
Care2.com
blogspot.com
Squidoo.com
Digg.com
(Later on, look for others, there are over 100)
#2 - Once you are all signed up decide what you want your page(s) to look like, most places give you that option with the exception of Hubpages.
A "look" creates a feel and do not discount the importance of that.
Keeping the look the same or similar will help with several things; one of them being branding. People remember how a site they like *looks*.
#3 - Know what you want to write about and know your topic well. Once you have decided what that is, scoot on over to Clickbank.com and begin to research (find) products or services that are in the arena you like to write about. You WILL find some, every type of something is sold there.
#4 - Set up an account with clickbank (free) to be an affiliate - which is what you are when you sell other peopls products, an affiliate. Then make your *hoplink* - this is a thoroughly explained in their FAQ's. Chose a good hoplink name as you are rather stuck with it once you have it.
#5 - I would NOT recommend writing a great article and then sending people over to buy *junk*; it is up to you -- but for me, if I decide to promote aka: affiliate, with a product, I buy it and read it or use it, see how it is, fluff -- more junky useless cr*p or a good "gizmo".
If I Don't like it at all or find it utterly useless I won't sell it! But that's just me, there is plenty of junky stuff that sell by the caseload - so if your conscience doesn't bother you - then you have the *world as your oyster* so to say.
#6 - Install a statcounter so you can see where your traffic is coming from, use the invisible one at statcounter.com - it is by far the Very Best one I have ever found, it's free which amazes me and the information it gives you is worth a LOT. My Only reason for having a stat counter is to see Where my traffic comes from (yes, it give you the exact url) and also with a new site, to see if I've been indexed yet by certain SE. You will have fun with it too. I believe it is the 4 or 5th link to the left once you are inside your site that brings you to *where visitors came from*.
In a nutshell - Write about something Interesting that is also interesting to ALOT OF PEOPLE. Use your articles to sell your affiliate *stuff* and you get paid every two weeks like clockwork by Clickbank.
I suppose I may have simplified this maybe a tad too much but I really don't think so and I do Not wish to overwhelm someone New to this.
-- if you do the above *right* - be fair and write well; I don't see how you can lose. Especially right now with blogging getting such high rankings with google! It's terrific!
Please give it a try and let me know how it goes for you!!
Best of luck (no luck involved)
-Melanie
