Coping with Time Difference when Outsourcing to a VA

Another thought on how to deal with this problem. Many of us who are from Europe or US usually outsource to eastern countries like india, philipines, mauritius, china etc.
Sometimes simple task take ages to get done just because the reaction time is very low as your outsourcing partners are based in a totally different timezone.
If you have any experience in this type of situation, I would be glad to hear how you deal with it. I have my ways, but please contribute.
