Do you really want to make money online? I'll let you in on a secret. You must do niche market research to determine which products are selling on what niche. You'll also need to do niche keyword research. Add focused action to the two steps and you'll have the seed to a successful business that would make you money for a lifetime, well almost
Of course you can always start your online business haphazardly, just blog about anything under the sun and add some adsense code in there, but based on experience you'll only get a dollar or two out of it, and that is, if you're lucky.
You must stand in front of buying traffic online if you want to make money. Second guessing your niche would work sometimes but in most cases it flops. So how do you find a hot niche?
Simple, by looking at places that monitors them, and one such place is Amazon's Best Sellers list.
If you are scratching your head, thinking how can a best sellers list of items help you find hungry markets, then read on..
Best selling items got in there because a lot of people bought them, that's a no-brainer.
But by knowing that information and by analyzing what particular area or market niche the product sells on, you'll be able to zero in on a particularly hot niche.
However, it doesn't stop there. Another thing you must do is to check the entire best sellers list for similar products. If lots of similar products exist in the list, then it's definitely an indicator of profitability.
Once you've found similar best selling products, take note of it. Write down the product titles, description, and the category.
As I write this post, I can see that the top bestseller in Electronics is Kindle. What does that indicate? Well simple, it means that there's a hot niche for portable reading devices, particularly kindle and that I should also try to sell it. However, it doesn't end there.
Electronics is a very huge market, you've got literally zero chance to make money by simply focusing your efforts on it, but why not try Portable Reading Devices or maybe Ebook Readers. I think these two sub-niches would be more targeted.
To find out if you'll make it on the sub-niches you'll have to do niche keyword research next. The previous step of looking for best sellers in Amazon is the easy part, niche keyword research is something that is time consuming. You'll have to use Google's keyword tool and analyze each keyword returned by the tool for indicators of profitability and to get an idea if you can rank on those keywords.
After that, you'll have to check each and everyone of the keywords for competition until you get one that has more than 3000 searches monthly but less than 5000 competing pages.
You'll have to keep digging. Sometimes you'll be lucky and find one in a few hours, sometimes it would take days. But when you do find one, you can relax and take a breather..You've just accomplished the steps necessary to start something profitable.
How about you? How do you find hot niches?
