Reputation Management is Something to Always Keep in Mind when Starting a Business

When you are about to start a business, write a book, or go public on anything, you need to understand how important reputation management is.
Reputation management is defined as what the term states- constantly making sure that your reputation stays clean.
Starting out with a negative reputation is never a good thing if you are about to go public on something new that you are doing, such as again, starting a new business, writing a new book, hosting a radio show, etc. You really must always make sure your reputation is clear before going public on anything you are doing. And at the same time, you need to make sure that afterwards your reputation remains positive or at the very least, neutral.
Exceptions are, if you for instance are an author and someone leaves you a negative review of your new book and gives a good reason for leaving such a review.
Reputation management will not help situations like that. Besides, it is ok, not to mention realistic to have some individuals say something negative about your work if the reason is valid, and they are not purposely trying to ruin you as an individual.
