Just Because the Business Deal Went Bad, is it Still a Scam?

Posted 12-19-2011 at 07:15 PM by RepATX

Just because you are being educated about reputation management, it does not mean many other business owners have taken that into consideration. And the ones who are not aware of that many times end up enduring the worst luck.

Here is a good example of when reputation management is needed. An honest business owner makes some bad decisions and takes some heavy risks. This individual loses not only his or her money but the money that others who had invested in the business. As a result, the business owner who went through this kind of bad luck would be called a “scam artist” by those who had invested their money that was lost in that business venture. Perhaps this business owner was not educated enough about business or was the type that took risks and never considered the big picture- or again endured bad luck.

However, he or she who goes through a situation like this is not a scam artist. But who can blame those calling this business owner that who lost their money with him/her? The next thing you know, this business owner’s name has been plastered all over the internet with the term “scam artist” next to it. This individual did not only make the mistake with getting involved in a business deal that was not solid- he or she really needed to look into reputation management before hand.

It was bad enough that he or she endured this negative luck, but now how is this business owner going to build up a positive reputation after that had happened?
