walk and run and climb and dance; one cannot fly into flying.

Sales and Marketing Tips – So Simple You Tend To Forget

Sometimes we try to improve our sales and marketing tips so bad we forget the basics. There are so many simple things we forget to apply to everyday marketing thats can save us the one or two extra Tylenol's we're getting too used to taking. Here are some basic tips you need to reapply, flash backs starting now!

  • Walk in their shoes – This little thing here makes a lot of sense, doesn't it? Just be one of them. As simple as it sounds it simply works as well. When you know what they want, what they are looking for and what they need, you'll know what you should provide them. It's like taste testing, you make something new and get people to taste it, then you know if it's too sweet or needs more salt etc.
  • Be nice – make sure that your sales people have the right attitude. Training should not only be given to people in the managerial positions. Your sales people are the front liners, they talk to the customers, they hear what they have to say and they give the first response. They should have complete knowledge on the products and should be able to answer any inquiries.
  • Be Firm – now the tricky part is being nice but still being firm. Yes the customer is always right, but that doesn't mean you can't change their minds. You need to listen to their concern then from their point of view but also show and prove that you can either fix the problem or that they misunderstood... just be firm on your point but nice.
  • Don't forget to ring – calling is still effective no matter how many people claim it to be the most annoying thing in the world. Cold calling or calling leads, just make the calls. Don't have just anyone in your office do them for you, make sure it is someone who is skilled at telemarketing. There is no point in getting just anyone to make the call as you are trying to get sales and someone skilled should be doing it.
  • Plan and execute – Making plans are easy, executing them is another story. So plan things realistically and do it. Going with the flow is great for travelers looking for adventure, not for people serious about business. You need goals set, and you need a plan to get there, a time frame, a backup plan, and then you need to start doing the dirty work.
  • Simplicity – keep things as simple as you can, don't complicate already complicated situations and do things at a level fit for everyone. The simpler your ways are, the easier it will be for most people to understand and want.
