AdSense YouTube Payout...

So, I have had my adsense account forever and not done a whole lot with it. Not too long ago, I decided to put a little effort into it and attempt to build a residual income to supplement my day time job.
It was REALLY slow going. Getting a niche... cultivating it... I have found my most success in YouTube. Right now I am making over a dollar a day on AdSense through YouTube.
I know it is not a lot at all... but that is with about six videos that I have on YouTube that really took less than an hour each to make.
I am now really thinking about putting more time on video content creation and putting more quality content on my niche sites.
How have you guys found success in AdSense?
