RSS Traffic - Not Just for Blogs

When most people here RSS, or if they have a clue what it is, most will automatically assume it's only for blogs, as most every blog platform has it built-in.
Not so, as RSS can be added to so many different type of web content.
For example, I have an online store that sells digital downloads. In search I uncovered a modification that creates as RSS feed for my store, posting every new product I added to the feed.
I can tell you it sure made a difference. Not only some of my earliest traffic but also some tasty back links for high profile sites.
Marketers also have to remember, there are so many places you could add "your feed". Start a blogger blog or Wordpress blog and add your feed in a sidebar widget. Squidoo has a RSS feed widget. Facebook has an application.
Not only are you getting link backs from big sites, you are also getting link backs for individual posts/entries in your feed. Deep linking have a big effect on your ranks and traffic.
