The Jeepney Magazine!
I was watching TV and the topic of the Probe team is about the Jeepney Magazine.
The Jeepney Magazine is a street paper modeled after the more than two hundred street papers in the world today. The Jeepney, like the veicle it is named after, is a way to move people. They move people from apathy to compassion, from poverty to financial opportunity, from voicelessness to influence.
The Jeepney Magazine sells for a street price of one hundred pesos. The vendor receives fifty pesos. Twenty-five pesos goes toward printing and twenty-five pesos are used for production costs, vendor training and vendor oversight.
They help street people to sell the magazine and street people gets 50% commission on sales. Wow, it was a noble project and needs support. You just don’t need to give money, it increase our awareness about the real current issues and we can also help people for their living.
